HISTORY

The Knoxville Open Presented by Food City is one of the four original events of the Nationwide Tour. Since its inception in 1990, the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley (BGCTNV) have been the benefiting charity, receiving more than $1,000,000 from the event. The tournament, now being operated by Knox Area Golf Charities, will continue to support the BGCTNV along with several other charities.

The tournament has had three homes over the past 19 years, including Willow Creek GC (1990-94), Three Ridges GC (1995-98), and Fox Den Country Club (1999-present).

 

Prominent winners of the Knoxville Open have included:

  • Jeff Maggert (1990)
  • 2006 Ryder Cup team members Vaughn Taylor (2003) and J.J. Henry (2000)




2007 Champion Chez Reavie
2007 Knoxville Open Champion
Chez Reavie shot a 5-under-par 67 to finish at 18 under for the tournament. The three-stroke victory is Reavie's first victory on the Nationwide Tour and moves him to No. 5 on the money list. Read More
